Key Research Interests

His research now focuses on biographical studies of early nineteenth-century men of science, with particular reference to the way in which their work was received by contemporary audiences. His thesis on The Life of William Buckland, Geologist and Churchman, (1784- 1856) will, as the title suggests, examine the life and work of this important and often misrepresented figure in the early history of geological science.
