Key Research Interests

My research Interests are in The Works of James Joyce.  I am currently writing up my PhD thesis entitled: A Portrait of Grief: The Portrayal of Attachment and Grief in the Works of James Joyce.  This thesis looks at the ways in which Attachment Theory can work as a frame of reference to provide innovative readings of the expression of grief in Joyce’s Dubliners, Portrait and Ulysses.  I have presented various papers on my work at conferences and also to a non-academic audience.  At the same time as studying for my PhD I have also completed 3 units of the MA HEP in order to become a Fellow of the HEA.

Teaching Interests

My academic activities include working as an associate tutor with first year undergraduates and also providing outreach workshops to school children, either on site or at their school.
