Seth Donaldson died on Friday 18th February 2000, whilst visiting Paris with his partner Bridget Allison. He was 26 years old. Seth had recently embarked on an MA in Creative Writing by distance learning. He read and wrote constantly and had with him a draft of his latest story on the weekend he died.

The annual Seth Donaldson Memorial Trust Bursary was established to perpetuate his memory. It is worth £1,000 to a student enrolled on the MA in Creative Writing (Prose Fiction) and is intended to enable and encourage another young person to explore the world through writing.

The recipient is chosen by a panel of tutors on the MA, based on the material submitted in your application.
