External FAQ Update 08/09/2021

This is information relevant to visitors to the Library. If you are a UEA student or staff member please login and access the Library pages for information on our current service.

The Library building is now open to ‘walk in’ visitors and the general public.

From Monday 6th September 2021 we will once again be able to admit visitors to UEA Library. Visitors can access the Library between 7am-7pm only. Outside of those hours access to the Library is via campus card only.

Visitors will be asked to sign-in to access the Library building, using your name and contact telephone number. If you do not wish to provide these details please be aware that you will require photo ID to enter the Library. At present we continue to support NHS Test and Trace, and will release data on entrants to the Library to NHS Test and Trace if requested.

We are unable to offer visitor PC access at this time. UEA Library no longer subscribes to print newspapers.

External Borrower membership and SCONUL Access.

We regret that we are currently unable to accept new applications for external borrower membership.

The SCONUL Access scheme remains suspended so we cannot accept new SCONUL Access applicants. Please check the SCONUL Access website  for more information.

Existing External users and SCONUL users who have a valid card should still be able to access the building. Please note it is essential to have your campus card to access the Library between 7pm-7am. We are unable to admit entry during these times if you have lost or forgotten your card.

Current Covid-19 restrictions

When using the Library please be aware of the need to keep distance from others. Keep left on staircases.

Please wear a face covering when you are using the Library building, unless you are exempt. You can remove your face covering if you are seated and at least one metre from others.

Do not enter the Library if you are unwell, have Covid-19 symptoms or are required to self-isolate. If you have items on loan that have been requested please let us know, but do not return any items to us until your self-isolation period is complete.
