Scholarships for Postgraduate Taught/LLM Masters Programmes

The Law School is offering the following scholarships which may be awarded to qualifying candidates who are offered places on our GDL/LLM courses.


LLM Academic Excellence Scholarships

To celebrate the Law School's return to the historic and newly renovated Earlham Hall, we will be awarding up to 10 scholarships worth between £1,000 and £3,000 to well-qualified LLM applicants on the basis of academic excellence.

Eligibility: ALL offer-holders.

Method of Application: All eligible candidates to whom the School has made an offer will automatically be invited to apply for the Scholarship by completing and submitting a short Application Form. The School reserves the right to withdraw the offer as and when the Academic Excellence Scholarship fund has been used.

Deadline: There is no deadline to be considered for these scholarships, but applications will be considered regularly and Scholarships will be granted on a rolling basis. The School will withdraw the offer as and when the Academic Excellence Scholarship fund has been used. 

As funds are limited you are strongly advised to apply early. 


10% Early Application Scholarship*

To encourage early applications, we are offering an automatic 10% tuition fee bursary to all International offer-holders who have paid their deposits by 8 April 2016.

Eligibility: All International offer-holders

Deadline: Deposits and acceptances must be received by 8 April 2016 to qualify for this scholarship.


Scholarships for Current UEA Students*

·     All UEA LLB students (including Erasmus Law undergraduate students returning to UEA to complete a Law Masters) accepted onto one of our LLM courses will be automatically assigned a scholarship worth 20% of LLM tuition fees.

·     All non-law UEA students and all applicants from Law Schools in the Erasmus partnership accepted onto either the GDL or one of our LLM courses will be automatically assigned a bursary worth 10% of LLM tuition fees.

·     LLM Employment Law: Students who enrol on the LLM Employment Law after completing the Postgraduate Certificate in Employment Law are eligible to receive a bursary worth 30% of the LLM tuition fees.

Eligibility: ALL current or recently graduated UEA Students
Method of Application: All eligible candidates to whom the School have made an offer are automatically assigned the scholarship.
Deadline: To qualify for these scholarships, applications must be received by 1 July 2016.


50% Final Year Undergraduate Continuation Scholarship*

Current final year UEA undergraduate students who gain a 1st class degree and progress onto a postgraduate course in September 2016 will receive a 50% fee reduction scholarship. Those who do not gain a 1st class degree will still be eligible for the 10% UEA Alumni Scholarship outlined below. Terms and conditions apply. 


UEA Alumni 10% Scholarship*

A scholarship of a 10% fee reduction is available to UEA Alumni looking to return for postgraduate study at UEA in September 2016Terms and conditions apply.


Yeditepe University (Turkey) Full-Fee Scholarship

In recognition of the close relationship between the Law School and Yeditepe University, the School will consider offering one full scholarship to the best performing applicant recommended by the Dean of Yeditepe Law School.

Eligibility: Law Students who are currently studying at or have recently graduated from Yeditepe University Law School.
Method of Application: To be considered for this scholarship, LLM applicants should approach the Dean of Yeditepe Law School with their request for consideration.
Deadline: Applications supported by the Dean's recommendation must be received by 1 July 2016


Thammasat University (Thailand) Scholarships

In recognition of the close relationship between the Law School and Thammasat University, the School will automatically grant LLM scholarships worth 10% of LLM tuition fees* to all successful applicants who have graduated from Thammasat University Law School.

In addition, the School will consider offering one full or two half-fee scholarships to student(s) recommended by the Dean of Thammasat Law School.

Eligibility for full Scholarship: Students who are currently studying at or have recently graduated from Thammasat University Law School.
Method of Application: To be considered for this scholarship, LLM applicants should approach the Dean of Thammasat Law School with their request for consideration.
Deadline: Applications supported by the Dean's recommendation must be received by 1 June 2016.


FFA Scholarships*

Students from Trier University Law School or Muenster University Law School in Germany holding the recognised "FFA" qualification will automatically qualify for a bursary worth 20% of LLM fees and be granted 40 credits as accredited prior learning.

*NOTE: Applicants will only qualify for one automatic scholarship/tuition fee bursary.  For example, UEA LLB applicants holding on offer or having paid their deposit by 8th April 2016 will automatically be eligible for the UEA LLB 20% scholarship but not the 10% Early Application Scholarship.  This does not apply to discretionary scholarships such as the Academic Excellence Scholarship and therefore automatic scholarships may be supplemented with discretionary ones in appropriate cases.
