Jacqui joined the UEA Law School as a Commercial Law Lecturer in September 2008.  Until then she had practised as a solicitor (qualifying in 1991) in the City of London, having trained and practised with Magic Circle firm, Slaughter and May and worked in-house as a Director and Senior Counsel (partner equivalent) with Merrill Lynch in London for eight years. Her practice areas and research interests include international commercial law, trade finance, security and banking law, international dispute resolution (international commercial arbitration), and all aspects of harmonisation of international commercial law.

Jacqui is the Director of Postgraduate Taught Programmes and Admissions and Course Director for the International Commercial and Business Law and International Trade Law Masters (LLM) courses. In light of her practice experience she teaches predominantly at Postgraduate level including Foundations of International Commercial Law, International Commercial Arbitration and The Law and Practice of International Commercial Payment, she also teaches International Trade Law at undergraduate level.  

Jacqui’s advising times are every Thursday between 3 pm and 5 pm and she would be happy to share her experiences with anyone considering a career in commercial law or in the City.
