Key Research Interests
Gemma’s research focuses upon the reconciliation of paid work and caring responsibilities. Her PhD was entitled ‘Valuing Caring Relationships in UK Labour Law.’ This involved applying the substantive body of literature on caring theory to UK reconciliation legislation, including maternity, paternity and shared parental leave.
Gemma would be open to supervising students who are broadly interested in the reconciliation of paid work and caring responsibilities, as well as gender inequality in the workplace and the home.
