Students assist the Norfolk Community Law Service's (NCLS) volunteer solicitors at monthly immigration advice sessions in Great Yarmouth, aimed at helping European Economic Area (EEA) migrants with immigration issues that impact on their entitlement to access services, work and settle in the UK. This scheme is restricted to students with some knowledge of EU immigration law.

This highly innovative new service resulted from a report produced by a UEA law student while volunteering for NCLS in 2011. The report reviewed the availability of immigration advice in the eastern region following the closure of the Immigration Advisory Service, and recommended the establishment of a free immigration advice service using UEA law students, working under the supervision of accredited immigration practitioners.
