Working in Development Forum 2019

Working in Development Forum 2019

Tuesday 19 February 2019

UEA students are welcome to join this year’s Working in Development Forum, an opportunity to listen to and meet international development practitioners, including UEA graduates, working in various sectors. The forum is the annual careers and employability event here in the School of International Development and offers an opportunity for students to hear speakers from a variety of NGOs, government bodies and charities. This year we will be welcoming development practitioners working for Oxam, DFID, Save the Children, DEFRA, Plan International, WaterAid, ODI, Saferworld, Ecorys, AbleChildAfrica and more, who will be sharing insights on their career paths and trends relevant to the sectors they work in.

The event will start with a keynote speaker and will then progress to a series of informal panel discussions on particular themes, including:

- Impact evaluation

- Humanitarian response

- Environment and development

- Education and development

- Media and communications

- Gender and development

There will be a break for tea or coffee between the panel sessions. The afternoon will finish with a drinks reception and an opportunity for networking. This is a great opportunity for students interested in working in international development and we look forward to seeing you there. The event is free but please do book your place so we can plan refreshments. You can book your place on MyCareer Central: https://mycareercentral.uea.ac.uk/students/events/Detail/1517675/working-in-development-forum-2
