Joe Warrior Walker is a fine artist from London and St Ives using mixed media, digital and film. His interests lie in exploring how an image functions when removed from its original context. Exhibitions include Chelsea College of Art, UEA London and recently the `Forgotten Spaces` exhibition at Espacio Gallery.
Having travelled across India, Nepal and Thailand, early recognition came winning the Brenda Landon Portrait Prize and selection for the Clyde & Co Art Awards and the Hitachi Fine Art Commission. Regularly exhibiting, most recently showing at the Espacio Gallery London his paintings reveal how an image functions when removed from its original context and pursued in other media, i.e. print, photography and notably film. This is seen as `moving painting` rather than traditional video, achieving a digital aesthetic of a contemporary landscape.
Recent achievements include:
- See Seven Paintings from `Forgotten Spaces` Exhibition, Espacio Gallery London
- Joe`s Film -` Site Seeing` was shot in UK and Italy
