Simon graduated from UEA with a BA in History in 2015 and an MA in 2016.
Key Research Interests
He is currently working on his PhD, researching the response of the British Foreign Office to the problem of the Ottoman Empire in International Relations between 1908 and 1914. He intends to focus on the individual perceptions of actors, reconstructing their decision-making processes, in order to show how Britain saw the Ottoman Empire and how this view manifested itself in terms of policy.
Within the context of International and Diplomatic History, Simon is particularly interested in the personal perceptions of actors, and how they coloured the way in which decisions were made in British Foreign Policy during the late 19th and early 20th centuries.
