On the 22 to 29 August 2015, 10 students from across the UEA’s nursing and humanities programmes joined the Cavell Nurses' Trust in Jasper National Park, Canada, for a fundraising week of challenge and adventure. A key focus for the week was a climb and a wreath laying ceremony on Mount Edith Cavell, which was named after Edith Cavell in 1916, one year after her death.
Students' adventures at Mount Cavell
'I applied for the trip to Canada because I felt it would be a huge honour to represent UEA and Norwich whilst raising awareness and funds for the Cavell Nurse's Trust, in the centenary year of Edith Cavell's execution.
The Cavell Nurse's Trust does fantastic work supporting nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants in the UK, and I am grateful for the opportunity to give something back to my chosen career by raising money for the Trust as well as raising awareness of not only the Trust but also the legacy of Edith Cavell'.
