Debs Newbold is one of the UK's most acclaimed Performance Storytellers, regularly playing venues such as the Royal Opera House, the British Library, the Southbank Centre and Shakespeare's Globe theatre. Her adaptations of Shakespeare and Chaucer have sold out venues in the UK and abroad, including the Globe Theatre and the Hay Literary Festival, and her original tales have captivated audiences across the UK.  She was voted one of the top five acts at the Towersey Festival (the only Spoken Word Artist in its fifty-year history ever to achieve this) and was a double nominee at last year's British Awards for Storytelling Excellence.  Additionally, Debs has been a freelance Education Practitioner for Shakespeare's Globe since 2003; lecturing, directing and leading creative, Shakespeare-based workshops for students and actors, as well as providing training to PGCE students and INSET training to teachers in the use of storytelling techniques.
