Take a break from work or study and join UEA Music Centre for the second of their free spring 2020 Lunchtime Concerts on Wednesday 4 March at 1.10pm in the Strode Concert Room (UEA Music Centre).

The concert will feature acclaimed tenor, Ben Johnson and prize-winning accompanist and UEA Choirmaster, Tom Primrose.

Ben Johnson represented England in BBC Cardiff Singer of the World 2013 and won the Audience Prize. Johnson is a former BBC Radio 3 New Generation Artist, 2008 winner of the Kathleen Ferrier Award, 2011 Wigmore Hall Emerging Talent, and a 2013-2015 English National Opera Harewood Artist. He is the Founder and Chief Conductor of the Southrepps Sinfonia as well as joint Artistic Director of the Southrepps Classical Music Festival. He is professor of singing at the Royal Academy of Music in London.

Tom Primrose has won several prizes as an accompanist, including the Webb Award for Piano Accompaniment at the Richard Lewis Competition, and has featured a number of times on BBC radio and television, including song recitals of Schubert, Britten and Poulenc and a number of appearances on "In Tune". As a choral conductor, he has performed all over Europe and his choirs have been broadcast in the UK and abroad. He also works as a chorus master and has prepared choirs for Yan Pascal Tortellier, David Parry and others. Tom has been Director of the UEA Choir since 2010 and the UEA Chamber Choir since 2017. He is also Artistic Co-Director of the Southrepps Classical Music Festival.

Admission is free and all are welcome, up to the capacity of the Strode Concert Room.
