Pink pigeons in pear trees

Not even a mouse: the poetry of Christmas by Dr Jeremy Noel-Tod

‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring...' Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without poetry, whether it’s a song, a carol, or a festive story. Join Jeremy to explore the traditional ingredients that make up the poetry of Christmas around the world, from snow, robins and reindeer to shepherds and angels. You’ll get a chance to take part in writing a new Christmas poem, and maybe even find a rhyme for ‘Santa Claus'...

The pink pigeon's peril by Camilla Ryan

The year is 2019 and animals around the globe are disappearing. During the darkest hour, one bird shines as a beacon of hope: the pink pigeon. Scientists hope that by unravelling the code in the pink pigeon’s DNA they can discover the key to saving the world. But time is running out, the pink pigeon is in peril - will it take a Christmas miracle? Join Camilla on a journey back in time to discover what makes the pink pigeon the superhero this world needs... and whether we can save our hero before it’s too late.

Recommended for ages 7 and up. Children must be accompanied by an adult.

Free admission, by ticket only. For more information, please email events@uea.ac.uk or call 01603 592130.
