Line-up change: Margaret Drabble and Roberta Rubenstein in conversation with Christopher Bigsby

Modern Life Cafe, The Sainsbury Centre, UEA

Unfortunately, Patrick French is no longer able to attend the in-conversation with Christopher Bigsby on Thursday 12 September at the Sainsbury Centre.

We are delighted to announce that in Patrick’s absence, Chris Bigsby will be joined by Margaret Drabble - the award-winning English novelist, who knew Doris Lessing both personally and professionally - and Roberta Rubenstein, Professor of Literature at American University in Washington DC and a Lessing career scholar.

All previously purchased tickets for the event will still be valid.

Ticket price for this event includes entry to the Doris Lessing 100 archive exhibition. A cash bar will be available from 7pm.

Doris Lessing 100

UEA enjoyed a long association with Doris Lessing. She held the title of Distinguished Fellow of Literature, and the University's British Archive for Contemporary Writing (BACW) proudly hosts her vast archive of correspondence, diaries and personal papers.

Lessing would have turned 100 years old on Tuesday 22 October this year. To mark this important milestone, the School of Literature, Drama and Creative Writing - in partnership with the BACW - is hosting a major international conference, an exhibition, and other public events.

Find out more on the Doris Lessing 100 conference website, and book tickets online via the UEA Store.
