Brucker-AXS S4 Pioneer

The S4 Pioneer is a wavelength dispersive X-ray fluorescence spectrometer dedicated to the qualitative or quantitative elemental analysis of solids, liquids or loose powders, from traces to majors. Specific analytical programs have been designed and installed to analyse major and trace elements in rocks and other geological samples, sulphur/chlorine and trace elements in oil type solutions.

Phoenix fusion machine

Samples preparation is a key stage in the analytical process, especially for solids. They can be pressed or turned into fusion beads. The Phoenix fusion machine is used to mix, fuse and dilute the sample with a borate flux to create a homogenous glass bead where inter element effects are reduced. The bead's surface is flat, clean and homogenous. It can be stored for a long period of time. Standard references are prepared the same way providing a reproducible analysis result.
