I'm a PhD researcher working on EU environmental policies at the Tyndall Centre for Climate Change Research. Throughout my studies I've looked at the environment from both a natural and social science perspective, deciding for my Masters studies to focus on the European Union and its environmental policies. After my Masters I worked for two years in a Parisian think tank (IDDRI) on sustainable agricultural policies in the EU and beyond.
In my PhD I investigate whether EU environmental policies have experienced policy dismantling since the early 1990s. I'm particularly interested in what drives political actors to call for dismantling and the strategies they mobilise to meet their aim.
Beside my PhD work, I am an associate tutor in ENV, where I demonstrated and lectured in environmental politics and policy. I have also lectured at UEA on EU agricultural policies and environmental international organisations.
As my PhD draws to a close, I started working in October 2015 with Prof Andrew Jordan (UEA) and Dr Charlotte Burns (University of York) on the ESRC funded "UK environment and the Referendum Project", an academic review of the impacts of EU membership on the UK environmental policies, governance and quality.
I am the committee chair of the Student Forum of UK European Studies association (UACES). As committee chair, I oversee the organisation of UACES SF events and assure the committee's presence on social medias.
I also co-write and edit a blog on EU environmental policies with Jonas Schoenefeld and Brendan Moore.
