Alison is an experienced Geography teacher having taught in a variety of schools and been head of department in a grammar school and comprehensives.  She has been a geography examiner.

She studied for an MA in Geography and Education at The University of London Institute of Education and researched the use of Landsat images to teach geographical skills.  She was part of a Geographical Association working party on Satellites in Education, which published "Spaceview UK".

She is interested in rural geography and the countryside and completed an MA in Agriculture and Rural Development at The University of East Anglia with distinction, 2013-2014. Areas of research interests include Place and its representation and inclusion in the new Geography A level.
