Fees and Expenses

Fees

Fees for the academic year 2016/17 are:

  • UK/EU Students: £7,365
  • International Students: £14,715

NB: Fees listed are inclusive of the compulsory 2-week pre-sessional Mathematics and Statistics for Economists course.

International applicants from outside the EU may need to pay a deposit.

Living Expenses

Approximately £7,500 living expenses will be needed to adequately support yourself.

Scholarships and Funding

A variety of Scholarships may be offered to UK/EU and International students. Scholarships are normally awarded to students on the basis of academic merit and are usually for the duration of the period of study. 

Up to 9 MSc Academic and Professional Scholarships (full Home/EU fees)

We offer up to 9 scholarships equal to full UK/EU fees (£7,365) to students taking any of our Academic and Professional programmes. We especially welcome applications from those intending to pursue an academic career.

Any applicant (whether UK/EU or international) who has received an offer on the MSc Academic and Professional programmes by 18 March 2016, will be considered for these scholarships. No separate application is necessary.

In recognition of the School's research excellence in and commitment to Experimental Economics and to Industrial Economics, at least two of these scholarships will be offered to students taking the MSc Behavioural and Experimental Economics and at least two to students taking the MSc Industrial Economics.

These scholarships cannot be cumulated with any other UEA or Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) scholarships.

Up to 4 MSc Academic and Professional Scholarships (full International fees)

We offer 4 scholarships equal to full International fees (£14,415) to students taking any of our Academic and Professional programmes. We especially welcome applications from those intending to pursue an academic career.

Any international applicant who has received an offer on the MSc Academic and Professional programmes by 18 March 2016, will be considered for these scholarships. No separate application is necessary.

Up to 8 School Focus Scholarships (50% of Home/EU fees)

School Focus Scholarships may be offered to any student taking one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes. This will cover 50% of Home/EU fees.

Any applicant (whether UK or EU) who has received an offer on one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes by 18 March 2016, will be considered for these scholarships. No separate application is necessary.

These scholarships cannot be cumulated with any other UEA or Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) scholarships.

China Agricultural University (CAU) Scholarships

In view of the ongoing constructive discussion between UEA and China Agricultural University, the School will consider offering up two international scholarships equal to 50% international fees to academically outstanding applicants from China Agricultural University who have received an offer on one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes and who have an average mark of at least 85%. These scholarships cannot be cumulated with other UEA scholarships.

Any eligible applicant who has received an offer on one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes by 18 March 2016, will be considered for this scholarship. No separate application is necessary.

Fudan University Scholarships

In view of the collaborative agreement signed between UEA and Fudan University in 2007, the School will consider offering one full fee international scholarship to an academically outstanding applicant from Fudan University who have received an offer on one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes and who have an average mark of at least 85%. This scholarship cannot be cumulated with other UEA scholarships.

Any eligible applicant who has received an offer on one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes by 18 March 2016, will be considered for this scholarship. No separate application is necessary.


Scholarships and Bursaries Specific to Current UEA Undergraduates

Please note, the following awards contribute towards fees only, and cannot be cumulated with other UEA or ESRC scholarships. 

School of Economics Internal Bursaries: 

An internal bursary of £1,000 will be automatically assigned to all UK/EU students currently taking a UEA undergraduate degree. 

50% Final Year Undergraduate Continuation Scholarship:

Current final year UEA undergraduate students who gain a 1st class degree and progress onto a postgraduate course in September 2016 will receive a 50% fee reduction scholarship. Terms and conditions apply. 

UEA Alumni 10% Scholarship:

A scholarship of a 10% fee reduction is available to all UEA Alumni looking to return for postgraduate study at UEA in September 2016. Terms and conditions apply.
