Scholarships and Funding

A variety of Scholarships are available to UK/EU and International students. Scholarships are normally awarded to students on the basis of academic merit and are usually for the duration of the period of study.  Priority will usually be given to those applications received by the deadline of 17 March 2017.

MSc Academic and Professional Scholarships (full Home/EU fees)

Competitive scholarships equal to full UK/EU fees are available to students taking any of our Academic and Professional programmes:

These programmes are ideally suited to those who seek advanced training in economics and those who wish to pursue an academic career.

Any home/EU applicant who has received an offer on the MSc Academic and Professional programmes by 17 March 2017, will be considered for these scholarships. No separate application is necessary.

MSc Academic and Professional Scholarships (full International fees)

Competitive scholarships equal to full International fees are available to students taking any of our Academic and Professional programmes:

These programmes are ideally suited to those who seek advanced training in economics and those who wish to pursue an academic career.

Any international applicant who has received an offer on the MSc Academic and Professional programmes by 17 March 2017, will be considered for these scholarships. No separate application is necessary.

MSc Applied Training Scholarships (Home/EU or International)

Competitive MSc Applied Training Scholarships up to the value of £5000 are available to any student taking one of the following MSc Applied Training programmes:

These programmes are ideally suited for students who have not previously studied or specialised in economics and focus more on the practical side of economics, preparing you for careers in banking, finance, management, international business and global media organisations.  

Any applicant (whether UK, EU or International) who has received an offer on one of the MSc Applied Training programmes by 17 March 2017, will be considered for these scholarships. No separate application is necessary.

China Agricultural University (CAU) Scholarships

In view of the ongoing constructive discussion between UEA and China Agricultural University, the School will consider offering up two international scholarships equal to 50% international fees to academically outstanding applicants from China Agricultural University who have received an offer on one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes and who have an average mark of at least 85%. These scholarships cannot be cumulated with other UEA scholarships.

Any eligible applicant who has received an offer on one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes by 17 March 2017, will be considered for this scholarship. No separate application is necessary.

Fudan University Scholarships

In view of the collaborative agreement signed between UEA and Fudan University in 2007, the School will consider offering one full fee international scholarship to an academically outstanding applicant from Fudan University who has received an offer on one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes and who has an average mark of at least 85%. This scholarship cannot be cumulated with other UEA scholarships.

Any eligible applicant who has received an offer on one of the MSc Academic and Professional programmes by 17 March 2017, will be considered for this scholarship. No separate application is necessary.


Scholarships and Bursaries Specific to Current UEA Undergraduates

Please note, the following awards contribute towards fees only, and cannot be cumulated with other UEA or ESRC scholarships. 

50% Final Year Undergraduate Continuation Scholarship:

Current final year UEA undergraduate students who gain a 1st class degree and progress onto a postgraduate course in September 2017 will receive a 50% fee reduction scholarship. Terms and conditions apply. 

UEA Alumni 10% Scholarship:

A scholarship of a 10% fee reduction is available to all UEA Alumni looking to return for postgraduate study at UEA in September 2017. Terms and conditions apply.
