This module enables registered health care professionals to develop the knowledge and skills of history taking and enhanced structured examination and assessment of infants, children and young people presenting to you. These processes will be developed alongside the underpinning developmental, anatomical and physiological differences that are unique to the paediatric population. The learning includes recognising those children that are acutely unwell with potential serious and life-threatening illness and how to use tools and frameworks to support enhanced decision making.
This module is suitable for trainee clinical advanced practitioner roles in paediatric practice but will also be accessible as a stand-alone module for those clinicians who would like to develop their clinical assessment skills of children to enhance their own practice. Students must have clinical opportunities to assess children in their own practice settings.
This module supports your professional development by promoting: management and leadership, education, research and enhanced clinical practice to enable you to move forward in your level of practice.
