This is a 20 credit module and is run at Level 6 once a year. On completion of this module you will be an independent accountable practitioner who will recognise your own limitations and the need for specialist intervention. You will learn how to modify your own practice and act as educators within your team/service.
The module will facilitate this by provision of: - Contemporary, evidence-based theory underpinning the care and management of leg ulcers - A period of supervised practice in an audited clinical setting - A structured assessment encompassing the above that will test underlying principles and knowledge and your application in practice.
This module is widely recognised as required preparation for community practitioners who will be setting up and running leg ulcer services.
Pre-requisite- Practicing nurses with live registration on the NMC Professional Register, who have a minimum of 1 year post qualifying experience. This module supports your professional development by promoting: management and leadership, education, research and enhanced clinical practice to enable you to move forward in your level of practice.
