- Delivered entirely online, this course is designed to provide surgeons the world over with access to high-quality education in aesthetic breast surgery. 
Using training techniques developed over seven years by a specialist team at Norwich Medical School, our gold award-winning course is comprised of six core modules. Each module will allow you to acquire CPD accreditation supporting your professional appraisal, and can also be used to build towards a Postgraduate Certificate or Postgraduate Diploma award in Aesthetic Breast Surgery. 
This challenging and rewarding programme has a flexible structure designed around the working lives of busy surgical practitioners. It is facilitated by our dedicated virtual learning environment (VLE), which hosts a thriving online community of students and senior specialists from all over the world. 
About
As a Specialist Professional Development student at Norwich Medical School, you’ll take part in fully online discussions centred around realistic cases within our dedicated VLE, which hosts a thriving online community of specialists located all over the world. 
The course is based around six advanced modules, covering all areas of aesthetic breast surgery and a host of relevant transferrable skills. Each topic will bring with it new expertise and insights directly applicable to your own clinical practice. As such, each tutor-mediated forum discussion will take on a life of its own, fuelled by the growth of shared reading, personal experience and tutor guidance. 
Your online learning will be supported by continual formative assessments of your surgical knowledge, critical thinking and decision-making. 
This course is ideal for senior breast and plastic surgery trainees, as well as practicing consultants with an aesthetic breast practice.

Assessment for Year 1
Each module can be undertaken without an assessment component, allowing you to gain CPD evidence for your portfolio. However, if you do want to obtain formal university credits to contribute towards a postgraduate qualification, you will need to successfully complete a written assessment for each module. 
The summative assessment is a written reflective 4,000-word essay, which will be submitted and marked online. 
Modules commence in January, May and September. Students will be permitted to select one or two modules from those available at each start point.

Important Information
Whilst the University will make every effort to offer the modules listed, changes may sometimes be made arising from the annual monitoring and review of modules. Where this activity leads to significant change to a programme and modules, the University will endeavour to consult with affected students. The University may not be able to offer a module for reasons outside of its control, such as the illness of a member of staff. Availability of optional modules may be restricted owing to timetabling, lack of demand, or limited places. Where this is the case, you will be asked to make alternative module choices and you will be supported during this process.Entry Requirements

This course is open to UK, EU and International applicants. The intakes for this course are in January, May and September each year.

Fees and Funding
Tuition fees for the Academic Year 2022/23 are:

£1000 per 20 credit module

£1500 for the 60 credit dissertation module
Part-time students can pay per module studied. However, module fees may be subject to an annual increase.
We estimate living expenses at £1,023 per month.

Core recommended textbooks are cited throughout the modules, which can be obtained locally through medical libraries, but you may wish to purchase your own.

How to Apply
Applications for Postgraduate Taught programmes at the University of East Anglia should be made directly to the University. Students apply for one stand-alone module initially by applying online. Students wishing to take additional modules in the future can then do so through the UEA Learning and Teaching Service, without needing to reapply.
