Based on mutual research interests, UEA has established a partnership with the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), based in Shenzhen, China. As part of this collaboration, 4-year funded studentships are available to support joint research projects through the UEA-SUSTech Split-Site PhD Programme.
Students will spend the first year of the programme at the University of East Anglia (UEA), based in Norwich, UK, followed by two and a half years of research at the Southern University of Science and Technology (SUSTech), in Shenzhen, China. Students will then return to UEA to complete their research work and thesis in the final year.
Due to visa and travel restrictions, this programme is currently only available to Chinese citizens. Candidates must first apply to SUSTech to secure funding for the programme. Students will work closely with academic supervisors from both institutions. Before submitting an application, candidates are encouraged to contact a potential supervisors at SUSTech and UEA to discuss a project suitable for the split-site PhD programme.
