Summer and Short Courses for International Students

This is summer study and short courses at UEA for international students. We deliver residential on campus and virtual programmes designed to develop academic skills and knowledge, enhance students’ understanding of British culture, to develop English language conversational skills, and to enrich a UK cultural learning experience.

Our short courses provide the ideal opportunity to experience being taught by our world leading academic staff and learning from experts in their field including published writers, distinguished speakers and experienced researchers.

Entry Requirements

See below to find out if you are eligible for summer study and short courses*:

All applicants should be aged 17 or over by the programme start date - All applicants are expected to have attained a 3.0 US GPA or equivalent
All applicants should either be currently studying at University, or a recent graduate.
Non-native English speakers need an IELTS score of 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component, or an equivalent score on an approved English test - 17-Year-Old applicants are required to submit additional supporting documents.

*Entry requirements do not apply for our Academic Taster Days.

Teaching and Assessment

All our programmes will be taught in English and teaching may be carried out virtually or in locations on and off UEA campus. We'll assess you in several different ways during your time at UEA*. Depending on your chosen module or programme, assessment methods can include coursework, essays, class presentations, tests and practical laboratory work.

*Assessment methods do not apply for our Academic Taster Days

Dates and Fees

We annually welcome groups of international students to UEA campus for summer study programmes between June - August, for programmes from one week to four weeks in length.

Virtual short programmes and academic taster days can be offered throughout the year and may be delivered in the local or host time zone, please see UEA around the globe for our full events schedule and programme details.
