All aspects of our programme will be mapped against the new Level 7 Clinical Associate in Psychology (CAP) (Integrated Degree) Apprenticeship standard. Our programme will also be accredited by the British Psychological Society.
This 18 month programme has been developed to provide teaching and clinical practice across the first year of the course. During this year apprentices will spend roughly half of their time on university lead academic learning including direct teaching, active online learning and dedicated study time. The other half of their first year will be spent undertaking supervised practice within their area of work.
As trainees enter the final 6 months of the course, they work full time with their employer as they approach an End Point Assessment, which if successfully passed, marks the completion of the course. Trainees are supported throughout with a close working relationship between the employer, the apprentice and UEA.
The course is split into 5 compulsory modules. The first 4 modules are all worth 40 credits whilst the end point assessment module is worth 20 credits. Module titles are as follows:
- Fundamentals of practice, engagement and assessment
- Evidence based formulation and intervention
- Evidence based practice, research and evaluation to effect change
- Clinical applications
- End point assessment
