This course is the first of its kind in Great Britain that provides a Pharmacy Technician qualification in Higher Education, and was accredited by the GPhC in 2020.
The Certificate of Higher Education in Pharmacy Technician Practice forms part of the apprenticeship standard for Pharmacy Technicians in England.
As a blended learning course, trainees will work through a curriculum of interactive online learning, face to face study days (live online sessions during COVID-19) and work-based learning.
Each trainee must be allocated an Educational Supervisor in the workplace who will have the responsibility of overseeing the trainees work-based training for the duration of the course. This can be either a pharmacist or pharmacy technician with appropriate experience. UEA provides mandatory training for anyone undertaking this role.
