Dysarthria is a motor speech disorder characterised by weakness, paralysis, or poor coordination of the muscles responsible for speech. Although automatic speech recognition (ASR) systems have been developed for disordered speech, factors such as low intelligibility and limited vocabulary decrease speech recognition accuracy.

This project is concerned with increasing the ASR accuracy. Currently, we are working on a technique for incorporating the speaker's confusion-matrix into the decoding process. INitial results show that this is very promising.
