Research Interests:
Soon after PhD in computer science at UEA, I joined the world-leading Sainsbury Laboratory (TSL) as a post-doctoral fellow in bioinformatics. I was leading the development of high-throughput bioimage analysis to process large cellular datasets acquired by HCS and confocal microscopes. During the period of time, I worked closely with industrial leaders such as PerkinElmer and Bayer CropScience. 

Notably, at TSL, I was shortlisted from thousands of early-stage scientists and appeared in Parliament to present my research to MPs in SET for Britain 2013.

In 2014, I was appointed as a Phenomics Project Leader by The Genome Analysis Centre (rebranded to Earlham Institute in 2016) and co-funed by John Innes Centre. At the moment, my laboratory at Earlham Institute focuses on automated in-field crop phenotyping, Internet of Things in agriculture R&D, novel machine-learning based algorithm and software solutions to carry out high-throughput trait analysis and predictive GxExP modelling for breeding, crop research and digital agriculture. Both CropQuant and SeedGerm are two Agri-Tech products that we are keen to bring to the market.

Also, I am currently in close collaboration with world leading industrial partners, including Syngenta, G's Growers, First Derivatives and Intel.
