Class of 2019 programme for final years

We’ve put together a summary of all of the support available to Class-of-2019, including a quick video about all the ways in which the Careers Service can help you as you head towards graduation. Make the most of this before you leave for the summer.

There are a number of employer events including talks and office visits, which you as a Computing Sciences student may be interested in, including, 

Café Conversations

Employers talk about working in their industry, these employers recruit from all disciplines. Events include the Civil Service Fast Stream, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Leathes Prior Law Firm, Kuehne & Nagel logistics, Cummins emission solutions and others.

Willis Towers Watson Office Visit

Willis Towers Watson is a leading global advisory, broking and solutions company that helps clients around the world turn risk into a path for growth. With roots dating to 1828, Willis Towers Watson has over 40,000 employees serving more than 140 countries.

  • Tour the award winning Friars Street Ipswich building
  • Meet experts from across the business and corporate areas
  • Network with young professionals who have recently graduated with a variety of backgrounds
  • Attend an employability skills workshop
  • Learn more about graduate opportunities they have available
  • There are also ten internship placements available within the company - attending this office visit would demonstrate your initiative and help enhance your application.

Starting to make your ideas something real – start-ups, business, enterprise

Enterprise Central (base in the Enterprise Centre) run lots of workshops and also offer a range of funding opportunities to UEA students.

Daily ‘How to…’ workshops – throughout semester

Covering everything from using LinkedIn to writing successful applications these workshops allow you to focus on individual elements of your career management.
