Why they're supporting the Award
'I jumped at the chance to become involved in the award as being a UEA graduate myself I felt this was a great opportunity to support the students on a journey which will help set them up for a successful future. This involvement has also provided me with a valuable and rewarding CPD opportunity which not only benefits me but also my organisation. As a charity, in addition to achieving our charitable aims, we feel that it is important to forge strong links with our local community and offer support and expertise wherever possible. Whether it be through involvement in the UEA Award, our volunteer programme or our other community projects, we are passionate about helping people fulfil their potential.'
Claire Ingram - Volunteer Co-ordinator (ZSEA)
ZSEA's involvement in the UEA Award
ZSEA have been on the UEA Award Steering Group since June 2015 as our representative for voluntary sector organisations. Claire Ingram, Volunteer Co-ordinator at ZSEA, gave students feedback on their Silver Award videos during the academic year 2015/16. ZSEA have also advertised a number of UEA Award Approved vacancies with the UEA Careers Service including visitor engagement volunteers, fundraising assistants and volunteer film makers. UEA Award Approved vacancies involve the employer providing detailed information about the attributes that may be developed in the role, as well as the training opportunities in the post.
