Emily Pineda-Sampson, BSc International Development and the Environment
Being involved with the UEA Mentoring Programme meant I could speak to local employers to find out about many careers and practice my professional approach to interview questions.
I received excellent support from my mentors with CV help and advice on potential employment sectors. Each mentor had taken their own path and highly suggested I started my own discovery journey. Having decided I wanted to work outside and food security is a big concern for the future I found a position at G's Fresh in the variety trials department. The mentoring experience surprised me by showing me how accessible companies are and how willing they are to show you around so you can gain as much useful information as possible.
After the experience I had using the mentoring service it is definitely a great opportunity to find out different areas and offers the best chance of networking.
