Environment Young Enterpreneurs Scheme

The Environment Young Entrepreneurs Scheme (Environment YES) is a venture designed to develop business awareness and an understanding of entrepreneurship in UK environmental postgraduate students and postdoctoral scientists.

This goal is achieved through a competition in which those participating prepare a business plan for a hypothetical company.

Winners will receive £2,500.


Biotechnology Young Entrepreneurship Scheme

Biotechnology YES is an innovative competition developed to raise awareness of the commercialisation of bioscience ideas among early career researchers. Build your knowledge with presentations from leading industry figures on all aspects of technology transfer and the commercialisation of ideas. 2014 finalists include everything from a revolutionary biocatalytic cleaning technology designed to reduce the downtime of industry-scale chemical reactors to coffee seeds that produce plants with uncaffeinated beans.

i-Teams brings together the brightest postgraduate students with ground-breaking university research to develop commercially viable strategies. We put together teams of postgraduate students and contract research staff to work together with industry mentors for real hands-on experience of investigating potential markets for a new technology.

From investigating the use of satellite imagery to count whales to projects on Parkinson's disease, the subjects are intriguing.
