This is an all day event starting at 09.30 until 18.30, followed by a networking reception until 20.30.

The event will consist of briefings, talks and practical activities based on real-life case studies, including:

  • Project Presentation: Translation and Communication in Training (TACIT) UEA in collaboration with the Norfolk Constabulary and with endorsement from the National Investigative Interviewing Steering Group
    Title: What can we learn from an analysis of real-life police interviews: Empirical findings for an interview toolkit
    TACIT Team: Luna Filipović (Project Team Leader), Carlos de Pablos-Ortega, Marie-Noelle Guillot, Alberto Hijazo-Gascón, Andreas Musolff and Gabrina Pounds
  • An interactive talk by Michael R. Napier, FBI Supervisory Special Agent (Retired); an expert on interview and interrogation, whose work resulted in some of the most important criminal convictions in the US
  • Project presentation: Public perceptions of counter-terrorism: Implications for security and citizenship Lee Jarvis (UEA) and Michael Lister (Oxford Brookes University)
  • Roundtable discussion (further discussants from the public sphere to be confirmed)
