Biography

I joined UEA in 2011. My research specialism is North American and British literature and culture, with an emphasis on transatlantic poetry networks and the intersections between literature, music, and visual art. I am also interested in representations of landscape in contemporary literature and recent work on this topic has examined the various ways in which unofficial, interfacial landscapes have been represented in poetry and creative non-fiction. I have also written on mid-twentieth-century American imaginings of the ‘English’ landscape and the complex transatlantic textual arcadias of contemporary pastoral poetics.
