This request relates to 16 defence companies:

Please provide the following information:

Question 1. How much money did the university receive in donations, grants and sponsorships from each of these companies, between October 2023 and July 2025? Please state the amount that has been received from each company and also provide a brief description of the funding.

Our response:

For records held, we can confirm one payment received from BAE systems, for a research project titled The Role of PTH in treatment of Stress Fractures in Army Recruits. The amount received during the requested period was £33,832.25.

Question 2. Did any representatives of these companies sit on any advisory boards within the university (EG advisory boards for specific academic programmes) during the 2024/25 academic year?

If so, please state which companies had representatives on which advisory boards - and whether they are still on the board.

Our response:

No. There were no representatives from any of the listed companies which sat on any advisory board within the University for the 2024-25 academic year.
