Your future career and employability is at the forefront of our minds.
We ensure that support for the growth of your career is deeply embedded within our degree programmes, and your employability as a graduate reflects your strengths and knowledge gained during your time here.
Law in Practice
Our first year Law in Practice module provides particular focus on the role which the law plays in our society, and introduces students to the work which lawyers do. One of the objectives of this module is to help students to develop a good appreciation of the wide range of careers available for law graduates and legal professionals, and enable them to consider their future in a more informed way.
Skills Development Programme
This series of seminars in the first and second year provides tailored tuition in small groups on both academic legal skills and transferrable skills relevant to all jobs, including writing effectively, and negotiation and presentation skills.
Law School Employability Handbook
Our Employability Handbook, available online through our intranet, devised especially for our Law students, will guide you through what is available and how to make the best use of it to ready yourself for any kind of career and to get a job in your chosen field.
Careers Events
We have and extensive programme of events covering both legal and non legal careers such as careers panels, commercial awareness workshops, mock job interviews, an annual Law Careers Fair and presentations from our former students.
