UEA invites the public to ‘Ask the Experts’ about the EU
As the European Union referendum approaches, the University of East Anglia (UEA) is hosting an event as part of a drive to help the British public make an informed decision.
To remain in or leave the EU is the most important political choice facing the British public for a generation. Yet authoritative independent information is in short supply.
The free event, ‘The UK and EU: Ask the Experts’, offers the people of Norwich, Norfolk and the surrounding area the opportunity to put their questions about the topic to a panel who are world-renowned experts in their field.
It will take place at the Epic Studios on Magdalen Street, Norwich, on 27 January, at 6.30pm. The public is invited to put their questions to the experts before the event and on the day via Twitter using the hashtag #EUask, which can be used to follow the debate.
Answering questions at the event include the leading authority on EU institutions, UEA’s Professor Hussein Kassim, one of the world’s foremost experts on EU law, Cambridge University’s Professor Catherine Barnard and King's College London’s professor of European politics and foreign affairs Anand Menon.
The event is organised by UEA Professor Hussein Kassim who is a senior fellow of The UK in a Changing Europe an independent and non-partisan initiative that provides expert knowledge on UK-EU issues to the British public so they can make a decision that is based on facts and evidence.
For planning purposes, those wishing to attend are asked to register by emailing UKandEU.firstname.lastname@example.org.
