WHY CHOOSE SILC

SHU-UTS SILC Business School was co-founded in 1994 by Shanghai University (SHU) in China and The University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in Australia. Located in Shanghai’s cultural and technological district, Jiading, the university is a 45 minute drive from the centre of China’s largest city.

As well as being China’s major finance and business centre, Shanghai hosts a number of cultural events throughout the year such as the Lantern Festival, Formula 1 Racing, Shanghai Fashion Week and the Shanghai International Film Festival.

As a collaboration between SHU and UTS, SILC brings together high-quality educational resources from two continents. The university’s mission is to build a contemporary silk road to facilitate international education and exchange through its four values of Scholarship, Innovation, Leadership and Cooperation, from which it takes its name. Accommodation is offered on the Yanchang and Baoshan campuses in international student dormitories that are close to supermarkets, book stores and the university health clinic.

The university also boasts more than thirty sports teams and societies with many activities on offer to enrich students’ campus life, including a buddy scheme, a welcome party, an international cultural festival and various sports events.
