WHY CHOOSE INNSBRUCK?

The University of Innsbruck was founded in 1669 and thus has a tradition of over 350 years. It is the largest and most important research and education institution in Western Austria. Currently more than 28,000 students are enrolled in undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate programmes. Physics, ‘Man and the Environment’, Cultural Conflicts, Scientific Computing and Molecular Biosciences are among its research priorities.

The university buildings are spread across the city, which is known for its Imperial architecture and dramatic landscapes. Students who are enrolled at Innsbruck during the autumn semester can benefit from German lessons offered by the university.

Innsbruck is located between Munich in Germany and Verona in Italy, making it the Alpine region's state capital. For those wanting to explore, the train will be your best friend, allowing you to explore Austria's neighbouring countries. If you're a winter sports fan you'll be able to hope on to the slopes after classes. If skiing isn't your thing then there are plenty of other outdoor activities and culture to explore in the city. Innsbruck is a great place to soak up Austrian culture and Gothic architecture.
