I am currently a NERC Knowledge Exchange Fellow in the School of Environmental Sciences, University of East Anglia. I work with the Westcountry Rivers Trust, the Brograve Partnership in the Norfolk Broads and others to apply some of the lessons of stakeholder co-production of models to support catchment management that came out of our recent RELU project Catchment Management for Protection of Water Resources. I am exploring how trust in the modelling process develops, how uncertainties in model predictions can best be communicated and to what extent these are accepted. I am also involved in the Defra Demonstration Test Catchments project and I teach as an Associate Tutor on the Catchment Water Resources and Hydrology & Hydrogeology modules in the School.
The thematic issue of Environmental Modelling & Software I have been editing with Trevor Page, Laurence Smith and Alexey Voinov is now published: Expert opinion in environmental modelling and management.
In 2011, our RELU team came runners up in the RELU Awards in the category Best Example of Interdisciplinary Methodology or Scientific Innovation. See the movie we entered with HERE.
