What was NASC? 
The class management cross-school project:
factors influencing pupils' attitude to learning


'He's not my sort of teacher. He's like a duracell battery, he just goes on and on.'

Gives details of a survey of 700+pupils in 5 secondary schools about some of the factors that influence their attitude to learning. The results indicate that as well as gender and age differences, there are subject, school and teacher effects.

 Other UK research on disaffection  
European perspectives on pupil disaffection We are currently part of a 3 year EEC
funded project on disaffection in schools,
working with the Autonomous University of
Barcelona, and the CNEFEI Institute Paris.
