This cadastre is linked to Roman roads leaving Lincoln. It is likely that one of them, running north-east towards the Lincolnshire coast, coincides with the decumanus maximus (DM). The origin given above may thus have been the true origin of a centuriation with regions defined by the view towards Leicester, site of the other principal settlement of the civitas of the corieltauui.
Further details are included in my thesis.
This map shows topographic and archaeological features corresponding to a small part of the hypothetical cadastre on the edge of the Fens north of Peterborough. The dotted lines show the limites at 20 actus. The red lines are the quintarii.
