Nuclear Power

o The travelling wave concept for nuclear power. This is in effect a fast breeder reactor using depleted U-238 as the primary fuel. This in itself is not fertile, but is transmuted into fertile Pu-239 by neutron bombardment. The difference between this and a traditional fast breeder is that the fuel for say 100 years is loaded once and the nuclear reaction is sustained without the normal extraction and reprocessing of fuel
