My main research interests are biogeochemical cycles, and chemical studies of the environment, particularly of coastal and ocean waters, deep sea sedimentation, and atmospheric transport and deposition of nutrients and other trace species.

We currently have 2 studentships available:
The links will take you to the Environmental Sciences Ph. D. Studentships pages, where you will find brief project descriptions and full details on how to apply. Further information on these projects can be obtained from me.
I graduated with a first degree in Chemistry from Reading, and I then did an MSc in Oceanography at Southampton. After that, I worked on coastal pollution problems for the Clyde River Purification Board in Scotland, before moving to Bermuda, where my interests broadened to include deep-sea biogeochemistry and atmospheric inputs to the ocean. I came to UEA in 1985.
You can find information about some of the people and projects in my research group on the Aquatic and Atmospheric Biogeochemistry pages.
I teach a variety of courses, including
