Matt Hutchings
Principal Investigator
Ryan Seipke. MRC-funded postdoc (with Rebecca Goss and Doug Yu). Ryan is using a genome mining approach to identify novel antifungal compounds in the leaf-cutter ant system. August 2009 to July 2012.
Elaine Patrick. Lab manager (August 2009 onwards) and head technician for BIO level 1
Melanie Bennet. ELSA-funded PhD student, January 2012-September 2015. Melanie is investigating how bacteria colonise a host to form a mutually benficial symbiosis, using leaf-cutter ants as a model.
Felicity Knowles. UEA-funded PhD student (with Gary Rowley). Felicity is investigating nitric oxide signalling in Streptomyces coelicolor. October 2009 to September 2013
Joerg Barke. UEA-funded PhD student (with Doug Yu). Joerg is investigating the symbioses formed between leaf-cutter ants and actinomycete bacteria. January 2008 to July 2012
John Munnoch. NERC-funded PhD student, October 2011-September 2015. John is investigating the essentiality of lipoprotein biogenesis in Streptomyces spp.
Hong Gao. Marie Curie fellow, August 2011-July 2013, with principle supervisor Rebecca Goss. Hong is high throughput screening ant-associated actinomycetes to identify novel antifungals.
Lucy Hume. UEA-funded PhD student, October 2011-September 2015, with principle supervisor Nick Le Brun. Lucy is investigating the nitric oxide sensing mechanism of NsrR, using S. coelicolor NsrR as a model protein.
Coming soon. BBSRC-funded postdoc, July 2012-June 2015, with principle supervisor Nick Le Brun. To investigate nitric oxide sensing by NsrR and the Wbl proteins in S. coelicolor.
