Qualifying Courses (to be a registered Social Worker)
BA in Social Work which is accredited by the General Social Care Council as a professional training in social work. Student bursaries are paid to students by the GSCC.
MA in Social Work which is accredited by the General Social Care Council as a two year professional training in social work. Student bursaries are paid to students by the GSCC.
Postqualifying Courses (for current Social Workers)
There are additional postqualifying programmes at both BA and MA levels in child and family social work, social work with adults, mental health, leadership and management and in professional education.
Postgraduate Courses
MA in Child and Family Research allows students to follow a one year full time or two year part time research degree. The course can be taken in it's own right or as part of a 1+3 programme combined with a PhD. The MA in Child and Family Research has full recognition from the Economic and Social Research Council.
MSc in Child and Family Psychology - this new taught Masters programme is being offered full-time and part-time from September 2009. It has been designed to promote the acquisition of wide ranging and flexible research skills and specialist knowledge.
