Sue Bailey (BA) is a Senior Research Associate currently working on the 'Biennial Analysis of Serious Case Reviews 2005-2007' in England for DCSF. This work will be continuing with a further biennial review for 2007-2009. She is also a joint researcher on the evaluation of 'Norfolk Fosternets', a new internet community for Norfolk's foster carers. Sue is the co-ordinator of 'Making Research Count' at UEA.

Mary Beek (BA, CQSW, MA) is a Senior Research Associate and Adoption Team Manager, Norfolk Children's Services. She has an interest in fostering and adoption and in supporting caregivers.

Pippa Belderson (BA, MMedSci, PhD) is a Senior Research Associate currently working on the 'Biennial Analysis of Serious Case Reviews 2005-2007' in England for DCSF.

Laura Biggart (BSc) is Research Associate currently working on Big Lottery funded research on 'Looked after children and offending'. Her doctoral research interests are work-life balance, Emotional Intelligence, well being and personal development at work.

Marian Brandon (BA, MA, CQSW, PhD) is a Reader in Social Work and Director of the Post-Qualifying Child Care Programmes. She is a childcare specialist and has research interests in childcare, family support and child protection.

Neil Cooper (BSc, PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology with research interests in the interplay between biological and social discourse in reproductive technology and designer babies.

Philip Corr (BSc, PhD) is Professor and Head of Psychology. His research interests are in fundamental systems of emotion, motivation and personality as they relate to psychopathology (e.g. anxiety and schizophrenia) and everyday behaviour (e.g. gambling).

Jeanette Cossar (BA, MA, DipSW) is a Lecturer in Social Work and is currently working on the Adoption Support project.

Jonathan Dickens (BA, MA, CQSW, MSc, PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work and Director of the Social Work Qualifying Programmes. His research interests include child care law and the development of social work in its wider social policy and international contexts.

Jane Dodsworth (BA, MA, PhD, CQSW) is a Lecturer is Social Work with a particular research interest in child protection and child sexual exploitation.

Piers Flemming (BSc, MSc, PhD) is a Lecturer in Psychology and has research interests primarily focused on perceptions of risk and associated representations and behaviours.

Ruth Gardener (BA, MSc, PhD) is a NSPCC Senior Research Fellow, based within the Centre, with research interests in family support, safeguarding children and the integration of children's services.

Simon Hampton (BSc, PhD) is a Lecturer in Psychology whose main research interests are in evolutionary psychology and designer babies.

Clem Henricson is a honorary Senior Research Fellow within the Centre.

David Howe (BSc, MA, CQSW, PhD) is an Emeritus Professor. His research interests are in attachment theory, post-adoption work, developing social work theory and practice, child abuse, neglect, rejection and trauma.

Ann McDonald (LLB, MA, CQSW) is Head of School of Social Work and Psychology and a Senior Lecturer in Social Work. Her research interests include social work law, relationships between the NHS and Social Services, and the development of community care.

Elsbeth Neil (BSc, MA, DipSW, PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in Social Work and has particular research interests in contact after adoption, post adoption support for birth families, and services to support post adoption contact.

Gavin Nobes (BSc, PhD) is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology, with research interests in children's social and cognitive development, families and child physical abuse.

Margaret O'Brien (BSc, PhD, DipClinPsych) is Professor in Child and Family Studies and Co-Director of the Centre. Her research interests are in the role of fathers in families, workplaces and family policies, children's services and children's neighbourhoods.

Georgia Philip is a ESRC Post Doctoral Fellow working within the Centre.

Vicky Scaife (BA, MSc, PhD, C.Psychol., AFBPsS) is a Lecturer in Psychology. Her research interests focus on the relationship between substance misuse and aspects of family life, gender issues in relation to parental substance misuse, professional perceptions of parental substance misusers, and young people's substance use decision-making.

Gillian Schofield (BA, MA, CQSW, MSW, PhD) is Professor of Child and Family Social Work and Co-Director of the Centre. Her research interests are in attachment, care planning, long-term foster care, and looked after children and offending.

Clive Sellick (CQSW, MSW, PhD) is a Reader in Social Work. He is the Director of Teaching and Learning and Teaching Quality. His research interests are in commissioning and the mixed economy of foster care provision, and the international aspects of child welfare.

Nigel Stone (LLB, DipCrim, LLM, MA) is a Senior Lecturer and has research interests in the work of court welfare officers and the use of family assistance orders.

June Thoburn CBE (BA, DipPSA, MSW, LittD) is an Emeritus Professor of Social Work and founding Director of the Centre. Her research interests are in family placement, and the family support and child protection provisions of the Children Act 1989.

Judi Walsh (BSc, PhD, C.Psychol., AFBPsS) is a Senior Lecturer in Psychology and has researcch interests in adult attachment, caregiving and families experiencing mental health problems.

Emma Ward (BSc, PhD) is a Senior Research Associate currently working on the 'Looked after children and offending' project.

Julie Young (BA, PGCE) is a Senior Research Associate currently working on the 'Families on the edge of care proceedings' project, and is also a PhD student.
