The School of Social Work and Psychology at UEA has a distinctive identity and research focus which has an international reputation. Our work has led to innovation in social work, policy and practice, and basic and applied psychology in the UK and overseas. Social workers and psychologists maintain active collaborations with each other and with researchers in other schools such as Education, Medicine, and Economics.

Psychology research
- Our psychology programme has a broad focus on three major areas: Cognition and Individual Behaviour, Social Psychology, and Developmental and Relationship Psychology.
- We have a state-of-the-art research laboratory including specialized equipment for eye blink conditioning, eye-tracking, and collecting physiological data.
- We offer a research-intensive PhD programme preparing students for academic and research positions in the UK and around the world

- The School houses the renowned Centre for Research on the Child and Family (CRCF) - part of the global network of ChildWatch research institutions.
- We are partners for Making Research Count - a national collaboration for Social Work and Social Care research dissemination.
- The School of Social Work and Psychology has been rated internationally excellent since the Research Assessment Exercises began (in 1984).
