The conference is
based on the main University of East Anglia campus in Norwich.
Standard delegate accommodation is located on campus. We have
arranged for our opening lecture and welcome event to take place
in the Norwich's historic cathedral and our closing dinner will
be held in the award winning Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts.

University
of East Anglia
The
University of East Anglia (UEA) is based in an impressive parkland campus on
the outskirts of the city of Norwich in East Anglia. Built on 320 acres of beautiful
parkland, the UEA campus is a mere 3 miles from Norwich city centre. With a
student population of over 13,000, including 3000 students living on the campus
and over 2,200 staff, UEA is buzzing with activity all year round. The campus
is equipped with a range of bars, shops, banks, catering outlets and a large
entertainment venue. The campus is a vibrant centre of academic excellence in

The
main venue for our conference on campus will be the Elizabeth Fry Building.
Here we will have use of fully equipped lecture theatres and workshop rooms.
The Elizabeth Fry Building
also houses faculty offices for the School of Social Work and Psychosocial Sciences
and the School of Medicine, Health Policy and Practice.
During the conference,
refreshment breaks and lunch will be taken in the Constable Terrace common room
adjacent to the Elizabeth Fry Building.

Delegate
Accommodation
Standard accommodation
for our delegates will be provided in Nelson Court or Constable Terrace on the
main UEA campus. Both are no more than a few minutes walk from the central campus
services and the conference main venues. All the hotel standard rooms are ensuite,
equipped with a TV, computer point (registration required) and tea/coffee making
facilities. Rooms are serviced daily and towels and bedlinen are provided.

Welcome
Event - Norwich Cathedral
We
are delighted to be able to hold our inaugural lecture and welcome reception
in Norwich's historic cathedral. .........
After hearing a welcome
from the UEA Vice Chancellor, Professor David Eastwood and an introduction to
ICAR2 from Dr Elsbeth Neil, delegates will receive the first lecture of the
conference from Professor David Howe.
The lecture will be
followed by a reception held in the Cathedral's new refectory. This will give
delegates an opportunity to meet and mingle whilst enjoying the delightful surroundings
of one of the UK's most outstanding cathedrals.

Closing
Dinner - Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts
Sainsbury
Centre for the Visual Arts, 'perhaps the greatest resource of its type on any
British campus'
(Times Good University Guide for 2003).
On the final evening
of the conference we are planning an evening event for all delegates to be held
in the Sainsbury Centre for Visual Arts. Located on the main UEA campus a short
walk from the delegate accommodation the SCVA was designed by acclaimed architect
Lord Foster and opened to the public in 1978. Having undergone extensive renovations
throughout 2004/5 we hope this will be a stunning backdrop to the official close
of ICAR2.
The SCVA houses the
extensive art collection of the Sainsbury family (famous in the UK for founding
a large supermarket chain), conference delegates are able to visit the collections
on display.
